Customizes Sneakers With Handstitched Vibram Soles
Hender Scheme isn’t the only Japanese brand offering custom sneakers. Unlike Hender’s handcrafted leather shoes, however, ADDITIONAL SOLE keeps the focus on the original design, swapping out the original sole for a sturdy Vibram replacement.
Thanks to an exclusive event at Japanese retailer Silver and Gold, ADDITIONAL SOLE will have the chance to demonstrate its product in person. The brand takes ordinary sneakers, like the Nike Cortez and Blazer or adidas Stan Smith, and strips away the normal sneaker soles for sturdy Vibram or EVA replacements, like a pair of work boots. Using its knowledge as a professional cobbler service, the company is able to further extend the lifespan of ordinary sneakers while also creating a unique silhouette.
Silver and Gold Umeda will host the ADDITIONAL SOLE pop-up event from November 23-30, wherein customers will be able to bring in sneakers for customization and repair. Check out the flyer below. Are the results worth the effort? Sound off in the comments below. Meanwhile, BespokeIND created custom Canada-inspired Jordan 1’s for Drake.
